Under the umbrella shade of the enormous Tortillis acacia trees, you have an extensive view of Kilimanjaro and the wetlands where the animals come to drink and play. It is such a fantastic experience to enjoy your favorite drink while witnessing the life of the big elephants playing in the mud just a few meters in front of you.
The attention to detail and the excellent and friendly service is particularly noticed whilst dining. Fine cuisine with selected produce grown in our own organic gardens irrigated with water from the Kilimanjaro surfaces through volcanic rocks and creates a very fertile soil. Your senses will be delighted by a blend of spices from the Swahili Coast. Before and after dinner, relax by the campfire, or at our very special tree-bar, sit on the sundowner couch and listen to the magical sounds of the African bush- all this under the spectacular African sky where the stars seem brighter than anywhere else.
The lodge consists of 13 ideally located cottages, on bushland, facing Kilimanjaro. The Tawi style is a subtle blend of ultra-modern comfort and African tradition. Each luxurious and private double or twin cottage has its own wooden-deck veranda, a fabulous view of the Kilimanjaro. En-suite bathrooms fitted with a bath and shower, a fireplace and a minibar are some of the features found in the rooms.
The bar and dining area is the central point of Tawi Lodge. From there, under the shade of enormous trees, guests have an extensive view of Kilimanjaro and the wetlands where the animals come to drink and play as they savor fine cuisine grown in the Amboseli wetlands. Guests can also relax by the campfire, or at the bush bar, and listen to the magical sounds of the African bush- all this under the spectacular African sky. Onsite also is a relaxing massage area with a hot bath, 2 bars and a cellar with a selection of fine wines. Guests can also get a massage in our spa.
Amboseli’s delicate and beautiful ecosystem displays a magnificent variety of wildlife, with more than 50 mammal species. The elephants are no doubt the kings of the park and they are available in big numbers. Game drives are designed to take you close to the wildlife-rich spots in Amboseli. This gives you an opportunity to view wild animals in their natural habitat as they go about their daily activities.
