Nyanga is known for its beauty which was brought to the attention of Cecil Rhodes who would later buy 100,000 acres. In this he displaced the Sakarombes community. Nyanga lies close to the border with Mozambique and is popular for the Mtarazi Falls inside Nyanga National Park.
Mount Nyangani, the highest mountain in Zimbabwe, is located in Nyanga. This mountain is 2,595 metres high. Popular activities on it are mountaineering, hiking and fishing. Nyanga National Park is a worthwhile place to visit to see a variety of wildlife and numerous waterfalls such as the Mutarazi, Nyangombe and Pungwe falls.
