Garki is a district in the phase 1 development plan of Abuja. The district is divided into areas 1- 11. It is was one of the first places to be established when the Federal capital was moved to Abuja and it also features Garki II which is different from Garki Area 2.
Introduction to Garki
A district in the capital city of Nigeria, Garki has its areas divided into numbers to form a distinct name for it all; it’s from Area 1 to Area 11 which makes Garki II and Garki Area 2 different places. Currently rated major business area of Abuja, lots of significant buildings are erected in this area, zoological garden, general post office, commercial offices, Abuja international conference centre, shopping centre and Banks. Garki is where development actually started from in Abuja, the main road in the area are Ahmedu Bello way, Moshood Abiola way, Samuel Ladoke Akintola Boulevard, Tafawa Balewa and so on.
