Ebute Metta is an old residential neighbourhood in Lagos characterized by colonial architecture, several brazilian quaters, and is a link between the Lagos Mainland and Lagos Island. Ebute Metta literialy translates to 3 Shores in Yoruba. Ebute Metta is famous for its Notable Buildings, the Oyingbo market, St. Paul's Catholic Church, the Nigerian Railway Corporation Headquarters as well as several secondary schools, from as far back as the colonial era. Ebute Metta has two parts East and West and two different Local Governments administration for each of them. Ebute Metta is loved for its preservation of the old. The living style and pattern of living is all still very closely knitted.
