Through our website, we (Travel.jumia.com) provide an online accommodation, flight & transportation online marketplace platform through which providers of temporary accommodation (hotels, apartments, villas, lodges, camps, bed and breakfasts, known collectively as the “accommodation(s)”), air travel providers (airline, travel agents), & tour operators can advertise their rooms, flights and tour services for booking, and through which visitors to the website can book such rooms, flights & tour services. By making a booking through Travel.jumia.com you enter into a legally binding agreement with the accommodation provider, air travel provider or tour operator at which you book. We only act as an intermediary to facilitate the booking. In the case of post-payment bookings our role is limited to the transmission of information between you and the accommodation providers. In the case of prepayment, we also manage the payment between you and the accommodation provider, air travel provider and tour operator. The information provided by us to visitors on our website is provided by accommodation providers, air travel providers and tour operators. Accommodation providers, air travel providers and tour operators are given access to a portal through which they can manage and are responsible for information about their accommodation, flights and tours, including rates and availability. As such, while we try to ensure that all information on our website is accurate at all times, we cannot guarantee accuracy and hence cannot be held responsible for any inaccurate information or non-delivery information. The price shown is the total price payable for the room or flights as advertised, including VAT and all other taxes (subject to change of such taxed). The hotel or airline may offer optional facilities and activities at an additional charge. We may charge an additional fee at check out stage to cover payment cost of the selected payment method.
We want to ensure you pay the lowest price possible when booking through Travel.jumia.com. We regularly check our prices vs competitors and show the “Best Price” icon against hotels where we believe we have the best price for the same combination of room type and hotel policies. While we endeavour to be accurate at all times, the “Best Price” sticker is not a guarantee that the same or lower price cannot be found elsewhere.
The currency converter is for information purposes only and should not be relied upon as accurate and real time. Currencies are selected by each hotel individually. The true price to be paid in another currency will be shown at the time of payment.
Our service is free of charge. Unlike some other hotel and flight booking websites we do not charge our customers a fee for making bookings.
Many accommodation providers and air travel providers offer the option, or require, to pay fully at the time of confirming your booking. Online payments can be made with Credit or Debit cards through our secure third party online payment provider. Cards which are accepted include MasterCard, and Visa. Other payment methods available will depend on your country of origin and the country of the accommodation you are booking.
Please note that depending on the cancellation policies of the accommodation or airline ticket you are booking, refunds may not be possible in the case of cancellations or changes to your booking. However, the cancellation and no-show policy of each air travel provider can be found on the air travel provider’s website. It is your duty to ensure that you are in possession of all relevant travel documents prior to commencing with your travels. The requirement to have a valid passport or identity document will apply to all members of a travelling party and for each minor travelling (including infants). Jumia Travel is constantly striving to reduce and minimize the effects of fraudulent credit card transactions. In this regard, we reserve the right to carry out random checks and the possibility of requesting a colored copy of the cardholders credit card and passport/national I.D. In such circumstances we will attempt to contact you, using the phone number and email address you provided at the time of the booking. In the event of not being able to contact you, your purchase shall be automatically moved to payment at hotel or cancelled. We also reserve the right to move your booking in payment at the hotel or cancel it in case the documents you transferred to us do not pass our security check. Also note that Jumia Travel cannot ensure the availability of the services until the purchase is duly processed. Please bear in mind that those controls are designed to protect our customers from fraudulent use of their credit cards on our website.
To the extent permitted by law, the provision of our services and these terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with French law and any dispute shall exclusively be submitted to and arbitrated by the competent courts of France.
