"Comfortable place with friendly staff"
Verified Review written in 2017-01-02
Warmly welcomed at Papatuo by the friendly and helpful manager and staff. The place is clean and comfortable and there is air conditioning and a pool. About a 10 minute walk to the beach. There was no hot water in the bathroom, however the weather was so hot it wasn't too big an issue. It was not possible to tell from the indications provided where exactly the resort is. In fact it is towards the outskirts of town which means it is calm, but you do need transport to go shopping or to restaurants. Tuktuks can be hailed on the main road (5 min walk) during the day. At night it is best to arrange transport that comes directly to the resort entrance. The guard can arrange taxis but this is rather expensive. It may be best to get the number of a tuktuk driver and arrange directly.

"Very good stay at Chale Island"
Verified Review written in 2016-12-30
Our family stayed for 2 nights at the Sands at Chale Island and enjoyed very much the experience! The kids (11 and 12 years old) definitely had a great time around the island. The beach at the island is nice and calm. Would recommend beach shoes if you are planning to go snorkeling on your own. In terms of service, very polite and respectful staff, always with a big welcoming smile. Good and varied menu for food. I just did not like that you have to pay extra for coffee during lunch/dinner time (but they serve extra if you want). We enjoyed the party with locals showing their dancing rituals. They even asked some of us to join them in the end. Would go back as a family again!
