Chingola is a city in Zambia's Copperbelt Province. The city is the most picturesque of the Copperbelt towns with green suburbs, wealth of trees and flowers due to the high rainfall in this part of the country. Chingola is served by Kasompe Airport and rated 5th on the most developed cities in Zambia. Known to be one of the best internet service provided cities in Zambia, it has numerous internet cafes. It is also home to the biggest open-cast mine in Africa. The city has two hospitals: Nchanga North General Hospital and Nchanga South Hospital.
What to do in Chingola
Sightseeing: it is possible to visit the open cast mine; so long you get a permit from the mine office at the end of Fern Ave. If you’re a golf enthusiast, visit Nchanga Golf course, one of the most beautiful and well kept courses in Africa.
Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage is also a great place to visit as you get a chance to interact with baby chimps. Another great place is Hippo Pool on the Kafue River located at the northbound of the city; here you will be able to marvel at what has been called the Hippo pool where herds of hippopotamuses roam free.
