About Wau County
Wau County is a county in the Western Bahr el Ghazal Region of South Sudan, it is home to the third largest city in Sudan, Wau city, the city is the capital city of the Bahr el Region and the county. It is situated about 650km northwest of juba, the capital city and the largest in the country. Wau was originally established in the 19th century during the condominium rule. The county has a population of about 151,320 as of 2008. The county has is very own Airport and a football stadium, which is situated in Wau City.

There are few attractions in Wau County, the southern National Park, which is a very popular destination in the country is located 100km away from Wau, here you will get to see crocodiles, buffalos, lion, Colobus monkey, rhinos and many more. It’s a great place to go sightseeing. The Jur Rivers also flows through the county, you can go for a canoe ride on the river, to get a good view of the river banks and also do some fishing. The Wau Stadium, is another fun place to visit, you can go there to watch any team play football there, or even play yourself during their training sessions.
