Cuvette, Republic of the Congo
Cuvette, which can be translated as “basin” in French, is a department of the Republic of the Congo and is in the central part of the country. Cuvette is in the north of the country with a population of 156,044 according to the 2007 census over an area of 48,250 square kilometres. The capital city of Cuvette is Owando and has nine districts, including Boundji, Oyo, Mbon and Loukolela. Cuvette shares its bders with the departments of Likoula, Plateaux, Cuvette-Ouest and Sangha locally. Internationally, Cuvette shares its borders with the Department Republic of the Congo.
