ABOUT LAHORE ZOO, PAKISTAN
Lahore Zoo was established in 1872, it is one of the largest in South Asia. It is located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The zoo is managed by the Wildlife and Parks department of the Government of Pakistan. It is one of the oldest zoos in the world which started as a small aviary donated by Lal Mahundra Ram before it was developed. The zoo contains about 1280 trees of 71 species, 1380 animals of 136 species which includes: 82 species of birds, 8 species of reptiles and 45 species of mammals. The zoo was host to the fifth annual conference of SAZARC in 2004.
