About Remo North
Remo North is a Local Government that was carved out of Ikenne Local Government in October, 1996 by the Late General Sani Abacha led administration in a nationwide Local Government creation exercise. The LGA is just about 35 minutes drive to the state capital, Abeokuta.
It is bounded by ljebu north to the East, lkenne to the South West and Obafemi/Owode Local Government and Oyo State to the North. The Remo people are mostly farmers.
The major towns in the Local Government are Isara, Ode-Remo, Hara, Akaka, Ipara and Orile-Oko.
Attractions in Remo North
There are several festivals that take place at different times of the year – Gunuko, Egungun, Oro Festival, Agemo Festival, Orisa Festival, Apepe Festival, Olode Festival, Basegun Festival, Balofon Festival and Babalawo Festival. If you want to witness any of the festivals, the best time to visit is between July and August as most of these festivals take place between this period.
