About Ondo State
Ondo State is in the southwest of Nigeria and has Akure as its administrative capital. The state was created in 1976 and include the now Ekiti state, which was carved out in 1996. The vegetation of the state supports agriculture and farming is largely part of the livelihood of the people of Ondo. Tree crops such as Cocoa, Rubber and Oil Palm are commonly grown. Forest trees are also common features in the state and there are lots of rivers and lake. Bitumen was found in Ondo State,one of the oil producing states in Nigeria.

Visit the astounding Idanre town where there are so many hills and the landscape is amazing. In Ondo town, the Ekimogun festival is a colourful celebration of tradition and culture. Other festivals are the Egungun, Igogo, Olokun, orosun and Ogun festivals. Owo Museum of Antiques, Cave Ashes in Isharun, Igbokoda Waterfront and the Palaces of the kings are places to also see.
