Obiaruku is a town in Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State. In the Ukwuani speaking language, Obi means "the center", while Aruku is "the name of the trees that are in the area”. The town was carved out of the then Ndokwa West LGA on the 4th of December, 1996 and has an area of 2,016 square kilometres. It is one of the 9 clans that makes up the LGA, others are; Akoku, Amai, Ebedei, Eziokpor, Ezionum, Umuebu, Umukwata and Umutu.
