Obafemi Owode is one of the 20 Local Government Area in Ogun State, Nigeria. Its administrative headquarters is located in the town of Owode Egba. Obafemi Owode Local Government is bordered by Odeda Local Government and Oyo State to the North, on the south by Ifo Local Government and Lagos State while it has Sagamu and Ikenne Local Governments to the East. It is divided into 12 wards.
The major language spoken is the Yoruba with the Egba dialect. The people of Obafemi Owode are predominantly farmers, most of whom engage themselves in farming of arable crops livestock rearing and fishing. Obafemi Owode Local Government is blessed with a vast fertile land suitable for the cultivation of rice, kolanut, sugarcane, maize, cassava, tomatoes and a variety of vegetables. The Local Government is renowned as the land of ofada rice.
