Nsukka is a significant town in the eastern part of Nigeria that to an extent was the centre of action during the Biafra struggle. This town is also a local government area in the south-eastern part of Enugu State. Nsukka is well known for its tertiary institution, the University of Nsukka, the very first indigenous university in Nigeria founded by Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe who served as the second and last Governor-General between the years of 1960 and 1963. Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe was also the first President of Nigeria from 1963 to 1966.
