ABOUT NATIONAL LIBRARY ABUJA
The National Library Abuja was established in the mid 1960’s with the enactment of the National Library Act of 1964. The library was established with the aim of creating a network of libraries funded by the government to provide accessibility of educational materials to Nigerians. The National Library serves as the giant memory of the nation and the data bank for its learning and remembering process. The Library Act made provision foe]r the training of staffs and the creation of a board of directors made up of professionals. A group of 15 trained librarians were hired to provide a positive role in developing and managing the library.
