Imo is one of Nigeria’s 36 states, it lies in the South Eastern Region of the country. Its largest city and capital is the city of Owerri, other main cities include Orlu and Okigwe. Imo State is bordered on the North by Anambra State, on the East by Abia State, on the West by Delta State and the River Niger and on the South by Rivers State.The state was created along with many other states by the military ruler Gen. Murtala Muhammad.
It is mainly inhabited by the Igbos and the land is rich in natural resources like crude oil, lead, zinc and natural gas. The state in vegetations like Iroko, oil palm, rubber tree, mahogany, bamboo and Obeche.
