About Bida, Niger State
Bida is a city and local government in Niger State, northwestern Nigeria. Bida has a population of around 200,000 and is the traditional headquarters of the Nupe Kingdom which is led by Etsu Yahaya Abubakar. The city is home to the Federal Polytechnic, Bida and is known for its production of glass and brassware. The city is about 90km south-west o Minna, the state capital, and about 65km away from another major city Lapai. Bida is a melting point of cultures and it is not uncommon to find people of the Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and other major tribes residing in the city.
Transport To and From Bida
Bida is connected to other major cities through the A124 highway. You can get to Bida from Nigeria’s capital city of Abuja through the Bida-Abuja road which also links the city to Lapai. When coming from Minna, drive through the Minna-Bida road and spend about 11/2 hours getting to Bida.
