Amuwo Odofin is in the Badagry Division of Lagos state. It is also a local government area that comprises of the famous Festac federal housing estate which was developed in 1977 to provide accommodation for the participants of the second world festival of black arts ‘Festac 77’. The Amuwo area is often regarded as Festac extension as they lie close to each other, only divided mainly by a bridge.
