Otavi is a small agricultural town located in Otjozondjupa Region of the central Namibia. It is also the capital of the Otavi electoral constituency and has a population of about 4,000 as of 2011 census. Once a mining town, it now relies mainly on agriculture and also has the Ohorongo Cement factory. It lies beneath the Otavi Mountains on a fertile plain. Otavi, alongside the towns of Tsumeb and Grootfontein, form the Otavi Triangle and is known for the massive amount of maize produced in the area.
