Visiting South Kenya Coast
The South Coast of Kenya has a beautiful coastline with expansive beaches and luxury beach resorts that make it an excellent beach safari destination. The coast area is rich in coral reef, beautiful white sands and palms. Inhabited by the Swahili people among other communities, evidence of the rich heritage of these communities and foreigners who explored this region is visible offshore, in the culture, architecture, etc.
Best Tourist Attraction
Diani Beach is famous for its coral reefs and expansive sandy shoreline with mature palms. The Kaya Kinodo Scared Forest, a sacred forest, is one place you should visit. This forest houses several species of plants and animals such as colobus monkeys.
Another must visit attraction is Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park, which is excellent for snorkelling adventures. Humpbacked whales and dolphins are present here. Another place worth visiting is Shimba Hills National Reserve, which is the only place you can find the Sable antelope in Kenya. There is easy access to the reserve from any of the beach resorts in the area and it is about 33km from Mombasa.
