Nakuru County, Rift Valley
Nakuru County is situated in the Great Rift Valley. The headquarters of this county is Nakuru Town, which is one of the largest urban centres in the country. Other famous towns within Nakuru County are Naivasha, Gilgil, Njoro and Mai Mahiu.
Nakuru County depends on several economic activities that include agriculture, tourism and manufacturing. This region was quite popular with white settlers during the colonial era.

The famous Lake Nakuru, one of the Rift Valley soda lakes, is located south of Nakuru. It is a beautiful destination with millions of pink coloured flamingos that turn the lake's rim pink.
