Discover Mara North Conservancy
Mara North Conservancy is one of the many conservancies within the Masai Mara ecosystem. The conservancy was formally known as Lemek conservation area. Mara North Conservancy is located north of Maasai Mara National Reserve bordering Olare Motorogi Conservancy to the east.
The conservancy was formed in 2009, after Maasai landowners agreed to lease their land to promote sustainable tourism.
The Mara North Conservancy is one of the most populated wildlife areas within the Masai Mara. Both grazers and predators inhabit the conservancy, including Thompson's gazelles, zebras, giraffes, topi, wildebeest, impalas and elephants.
