Discover Lewa Wildlife Conservancy
Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is situated north of Kenya's highest mountain-Mount Kenya. It was formed in 1995 to serve as a wildlife sanctuary. It covers the Ngare Ndare Forest expanding to about 62,000 acres.
Before it became a wildlife sanctuary, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy was a cattle ranch for over 50 years. Now, it is home to endangered species like the black rhinos and Grevy's zebra. The park is home to several other wildlife animals like giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, ostriches, impalas and over 400 species of birds. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a world class and also a world heritage site.
