Bas-Sassandra is an administrative district in Ivory Coast, it is one of the 12 Ivory Coast administrative districts, the region is divided into 4 departments, San Pedro, Sassandra, Soubre and Tabou, where San Pedro is the district’s capital. Bas-Sassandra is located on the gulf of guinea, the beaches of San Pedro attracts several visitors to the district, as it is well known for its amazing beaches. As of 2012 the population of Bas-Sassandra was 2,163,941.

The beaches in Bas-Sassandra is an amazing place to visit, especially the San Pedro beach, which is a top destination for the inhabitants of Ivory Coast, the Cabrillo beach in San Pedro is quiet popular, it is a quite beach which breathtaking views of the ocean. The Tai National Park or Parc National de Tai is also located in the Bas-Sassandra Region, it is one of the largest forest turned reserve in west Africa, it is home to several species of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. The park was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. This is a great place to visit in Bas-Sassandra, you will get an opportunity to see animals such as Pygmy hippopotamus, leopards, olive Colobus monkeys jentink’s duiker and several more.
