The region known as Somali in Ethiopia (Soomaali Galbeed) is part of the 9 region states located in the eastern most part of the country. Its state boarders the regions of Oromia, Afar, Dire Dawa, Djibouti, Somalia and Kenya.
Jijiga sewrves as the capital of Somali Region. Other major towns within this Ethiopian region include Degehabur, Kebri, Dahar, Shilavo, Geladin, Kelafo, Werder and Shinile.
