About Mbuji Mayi, DRC
Mbuji-Mayi is the capital of Kasai-Oriental Province in south-central Democratic Republic of Congo. It is the country’s third largest city after Kinshasa and Lubumbashi and it lies in Luba county on the Sankuru River. Its name was derived from the Tshiluba language meaning “Goat Walker” due to the large number of goats in the region. The city is served by the Mbuji Mayi Airport.
