Exploring Waza National Park
Situated in the Logone et Chari Department of Cameroon. Waza National Park is one of the most famous parks in Cameroon, it was founded in the early 1930’s as a hunting reserve, It then later became a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1979. The prominent species of animals that inhabits the park include African Bush Elephant, hyena, West African lions, gazelle, Sudan cheetah and several others. The park is also known to be home to different variety of bird species.
What to See in Waza National Park
The animals and birds in the park are a most see. If you are interesting in seeing Elephants, Elephants usually congregate in the hundreds at Mare aux Elephants, a famous watering hole. The best times to visit the park are from March through May, when the animals comes to the same place for water, which gives you a better opportunity to see several of the animals that inhabits the park.
