Mfoundi is a department in the Central Province of Cameroon. Its capital is Yaounde, which is also the capital of Cameroon. The department was created from the former ‘’Department of Mefou’’ which is now separated into Mefou-et-Afamba and Mefou-et-Akono following the signing of Decree No. 74/193 on the 11th of March 1974. The department is made up of 7 districts.
