Kumba is a city situated in the Southwest Province in western Cameroon. It is known to be the biggest city in the southwestern region of the country, according to the 2005 population census, the town had a population of 144,268. Kumba people’s main activity is farming and trading, as it is an important trade center for locally grown oil palms, rubber, tea, bananas, plantains and cocoa. Kumba attracts several Nigerian particularly the Igbos, who owns a large percentage of the Kumba main market. Buea city is the closest town to Kumba, it is about 77km away.
