About Korup National Park
One of the oldest rainforest in Africa, It is situated in the Southwest Province of Cameroon. Korup National Park was established in 1986, It is a well-known bird watching destination in Cameroon, it is also famous for primate viewing, as species such as the Preuss’s red Colobus, Redeared guenon, chimpanzee and drills are easily located in the park. The park is about 10km from Nigeria’s border.
Attractions in Korup National Park
Korup is renowned for its wide range of unusual and colorful primates, including a number of rare and endangered species. A variety of small, shy antelopes known as duikers are common, although they tend to be elusive. Korup National Park is also one of the most accessible, protected rainforest areas in Cameroon. Hiking trips can be organized from the town of Mundemba Boat tours through the creeks, rivers, and also the fishing villages located along the riverbanks are attractions in the park.
