South Africa is a country situated at the southern tip of Africa. It is bordered by Bostwana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Swaziland and Lesotho. South Africa is famous for its wine and is among the wolrd's biggest producer of gold. In 2010,South Africa hosted the first Football World Cup to be held on the African continent.
South Africa is a haven for anyone who loves natural history. It is home to Kruger National Park, which is a favorite wildlife destination for many. It also hosts Kgalagadi National park and other smaller parks such as Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park, Addo Elephant National Park, iSimangalizo Wetland Park and Pilanesberg National Park. What's more, SouthAfrica had various UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Cradle of Humankind near Johannesburg, Robben Island-where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for many years, Mapungulwe Kingdom in Limpopo, Vredefort Dome and Ukhahlamba Drakensburg Park, which is recognized for its biodiversity, rockart and landscape.
