Soroti Town can be easily accessed from any East African town therefore making the small city an important business hub and a premier tourist destination in Eastern Uganda. The only Flying School in Uganda is located in Soroti Town.
A bigger percentage of Lake Kyoga is in Soroti district. Though water sports are not practised here, the vicinity has excellent nightlife and unique tourist sights like Soroti Rock. Easily reached via Soroti Airport, the town is one of the best places to stay if you intend to visit eastern destinations like the Pian Upe Game Reserve.
It would be hard to exhaust all of the tourist attractions in this charming part of Uganda. For one thing, every visitor should see the famous granite rock formation at the heart of town (a great place to take holiday snaps of Lake Kyoga). Then there's the lake itself, a wonderful place for fishing trips or wildlife watching tours. You could take lessons at the town's Flying School or book aerial viewing tours, or take a trip to the Bugondo Hills - home to various primate species and a great place to hike.
