One of the most distinctive buildings in the Ivory Coast capital of Abidjan is Saint Paul Cathedral. The huge stone cross that stands at the entrance of the church is a local landmark that towers above the surrounding city.
The innovative and ultra-modern church was completed in 1985. A visit to Saint Paul's should include the impressive interior, which has walls filled with beautiful stained glass windows. You can climb steps to the top of the church tower and enjoy spectacular views over the Ivory Coast. St Paul Cathedral has been blessed on two occasions by Pope John Paul II.
