Ras Dashan is the highest mountain in Ethiopia.Ras Dashan generally translates to 'the general who fights in front of the empire'; an impression of the mountain's might. This enormous volcano forms part of the Simien Mountains.
You can access the Rash Dashan mountains from Addis Ababa through Gondar or Bahir Dar. You can choose to fly or drive there. Both cities are approximately a 2 hour drive from Addis.
Kindly note that all hikes on the Ras Dahan mountain must be arranged at the park office located in Debark. Hikers are supposed to hire a scout to help them maneuver the mountain. Average scout fee is 3 USD per day. Entrance fee for the park is 12 USD for 2 days. The trek up Ras Dahan Mountain is approximately 66 km, Once you reach the summit, you can choose to go back the same road or use a dirt road through the park.
