Obudu Mountain Resort, previously called Obudu Cattle Ranch, is a resort and ranch located on the Obudu Plateau in Cross River State Nigeria. It is an interesting getaway destination offering beautiful high elevations with the best views and clean, crisp mountain air.
The resort offers the conference goer and the leisure seeker a complete contrast. This is because it has a temperate climate which is characterized by a relatively moderate weather, offers the tourist a bit of warm and cold temperature.
A popular event at the Obudu Mountain is the annual mountain race in November with a cash prize attracting local and international competitors.
History of Obudu Cattle Ranch now named Obudu Mountain Resort is a brief one. It started when a Scottish, Mr. McCaughley first explored the mountain ranges in 1949. It was then later developed by the Scottish, Mr. Hugh Jones (a fellow rancher) and Dr Crawfeild in 1951.
Obudu Mountain Resort hosts a waterfall, Becheve nature reserve (canopy walk), honey and yoghurt factories and the ancient Anape village – it is just an embodiment of nature!
The Resort has about four restaurants, one of which is the Terrace Restaurant and Bar that provides foods and beverages. Local and International dishes are available at the ranch. It doesn’t just stop there; you can dine outdoor on the beautiful platform highly raised so you can have a lovely view of the mountains, which is so romantic and fun. You can also choose to eat indoor at the exquisite restaurant, ordering for traditional dishes. There is also a limited room service offering for guests.

Obudu Mountain Resort is located in Cross River State, close to the boarder of Cameroon. There is a direct flight from Lagos to the resort. More so, the resort is approximately 30 minutes drive from Obudu town, which is about 6 hours drive from Calabar, the Cross River State Capital.
