Nairobi West is one of the popular residential areas resulting from its strategic location at less than 10km from Nairobi's city centre and a short 10-minute to Wilson Airport. Nairobi West is one of the wards in Langata Constituency bordering South C to the east and Upperhill to the West.
Even though traffic jams are the norm on the busy Langata Road, Nairobi West is densely populated particuarly by Strathmore university students. The area is also well known for its 24-hour economy, a vibrant nightlife, khat shops, and eateries serving the popular Nyama Choma (barbecued meat) as well as the cheap liquor.
The Nairobi Safari walk Nairobi Animal Orphanage, and Nairobi National Park are only 10km away while the Giraffe Centre is 15 minute drive away via Langata Road.
Board a matatu (minivan) at the CBD's Bus Station main stage or if there aren't traffic police, you'll find them further from the main stage at the matatus opposite Afya Center.
If you are flying into Nairobi West from Eldoret, Kitale, Malindi or Diani, you can take a taxi from Wilson Airport form where your flight will land.
