Situated 15km north of Mombasa, Mtwapa is a thriving town, commonly referred to as the village that never sleeps. With good transport links and plenty for holiday makers to do.
The closest airport to Mtwapa is Moi International Airport, which is about 20 miles to the south. If you want to get to your hotel from the airport, taxis are probably the best option, although as Mtwapa is the major junction for Mombasa's Matatu minibuses, there could be a cheaper way to reach the city too.
When you get there, you'll find one of the best holiday destinations in Kenya. If all you want to do is sunbathe, you can stretch out on Shanzu Beach, but you could also join deep sea fishing expeditions from the city, check out the spectacular tropical vegetation and even rent mountain bikes and explore the surrounding coast. Even better, after that there's a lively nightlife to enjoy. A place of endless partying is possibly the best way to describe this town.
Mtwapa is a great beach safari destination. Things to do near Mtwapa include visiting Haller Park, and Mombasa Marine National Park and Reserve.
