The capital city of the Mascara Province is called Mascara and it is located 60km from the Mediterranean coast of Algeria. This city is a trading hub especially for wine, but also for leather and olive oil. Oran, another important city, is approximately 100m away, and Saida is 80km.
Oran is the closest airport and there are train and bus links with Mascara, as well as a taxi service.
The weather from May to September is hot and dry with temperatures reaching 30C in July and August. In March the rainfall is particularly high in this part of Algeria.
The city has a long history and has an older, Muslim Quarter as well as a more modern French Quarter. For things to do, check out the different architecture that shows the history of the building and visit the ruins.
