Lugbe is a comfortable, relaxed suburb of Nigeria's capital city, Abuja. Located in the south-western portion of the city, it's home to some of the country's most prestigious departments and institutes, including the Nigerian Biotechnology Agency, and a major accommodation hotspot. There are plenty of great hotels, all of them a mile or so from the centre of town, making Lugbe one of Abuja's premier neighbourhoods.
Things to do
Lugbe is also a fantastic place to begin a city tour of Abuja during your holidays. Starting at the Nike Gallery, you can head up Airport Road towards the city centre, passing by the impressive Abuja Stadium (which regularly hosts Nigeria football matches) until you reach the stunning National Mosque.
After that, you could tour the massive National Assembly building, take a walk in Millennium Park, then dine at one of the capital's finest restaurants like Wakkis or Chez Victor.
