Lemek Conservancy is one of the best wildlife viewing areas of the Masai Mara ecosystem. It is located just north of the Masai Mara game reserve. It is about 19,000 acres of conservation area that aims at sustaining the Mara ecosystem.
Formerly known as Koyaiki Lemek Conservation Area, the conservancy is based on a partnership between Landowners, existing camps and lodges and Great Plains. Lemek Conservancy, in comparison to the other conservancies in Masai Mara National Reserve, is smaller with less visitors, good wildlife viewing and pleasant scenery. It borders Mara North Conservancy.
The Conservancy offers game-viewing throughout the year and comprises open savannah and a tree-lined section of the mara river with high concentrations of plains game and the wildlife numbers are particularly intensified during the annual wildebeest migration.
The conservancy is home to the big cats namely lions, leopards and cheetah’s and occasionally large herds of elephants can be spotted.
Guests who choose to stay in the conservancy enjoy the many benefits of off-reserve safari experiences, such as night game drives, nature walks and off-road wildlife viewing. Game viewing in the open grasslands is an unforgettable experience for every visitor who explores this conservancy. Just like it is the case in other conservancies in the Mara ecosystem, there are limited camps and lodges so that visitors can enjoy every moment.

All visitors to Lemek Conservancy are asked to contribute a conservation fee.
Indicative fees: Visitors pay USD 70.00 for Non residents and KES 1,000.00 for residents per stay.
By Road: From Nairobi, the journey takes about 4 hours where the 75% is tarmacked. Route A104 (Nairobi - Narok - Maai Road) is quite scenic and after 175km, branch off onto Highway C13 (Kehancha Road).
By Flight:The closest airstrip to use is Mara North or Ngerende airstrip.
