High in the hills of northern Tanzania, the beautiful city of Iringa is filled with history that reaches back to the dawn of time. The small town a remote place, but can be reached by bus from Dar Es Salaam. The long journey is worth it to see this unique destination. Iringa lies over 1,150 metres above sea level, with great views of mountains, valleys and rivers.
Besides Iringa being a gateway to Ruaha National Park, there are lots of historical sites that are worth visiting.
Board a bus at Dar es Salaam which takes about 9 hours to arrive in Iringa. Alternatively, you can take a flight to Irings from Dar which is a faster journey of only 90 minutes.
