Grumeti Game Reserve is a reserve in Tanzania, it is situated in the Serengeti district in Mara Region. Grumeti Game Reserve is on the western edge of the Serengeti National Park. The reserve is also a part of the Serengeti ecosystem, and also offers seclusion and exclusivity with some of the best camps Tanzania has to offer. The reserve is ideally situated on the path of the migration route and some even consider it to be one of the top spots for the great migration viewing. Grumenti Game Reserve was established in the 1990’s and covers an area of 411km2.
Grumeti Game Reserve is popularly known for its richness in wildlife, the reserve boasts of not only some of the biggest crocodiles in Africa, but also a large lion population. Other animals to see include leopards, cheetahs, elephants, hippos, Black and white Colobus monkeys can also be found at the reserve. Gurumeti Game Reserve is the place where the migration corridors take place. This is where it is easy to see the movement of huge herds of wildebeest and zebra and this describes the Serengeti/Mara ecology itself.
