Embakasi is strategically located off Mombasa Road in close proximity to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where the head office of Kenya Airways is located.
The residential area is popular among the lower and middle income population and hosts a number of informal settlements as well as Nairobi's industrial area.
Though Embakasi is densely populated, it is quite secure given the economy runs for almost 24 hours and public transport runs until late. Embakasi is also popular for local food eateries and pubs that serve fairly priced liquor.
As soon as you arrive in Kenya, through Jomo Kenyatta International Aiport in Embakasi, you can search for places to visit in Nairobi. They include Nairobi National Park (Mombasa Road Gate), Nairobi National Museum in CBD, the Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum easily accessible using the Southern Bypass highway.
A visit to Machakos People's Park makes an interesting road trip as you can see some of the animals on the sides of the highway.
Board a matatu (minivan) at the CBD's stage opposite National Archives outside Tuskys Supermarket or at the Ambassador stage on Moi Avenue.
If you are flying internationally into Nairobi, you can take a taxi from JKIA from where your flight will land.
