Almost completely surrounded by the Dja River, Dja Faunal Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is one of the largest and best protected rainforests in Africa. At the time of World Heritage listing in 1987, 90% of the area was considered intact. The Dja Reserve is one of Africa's most species-rich rainforests.Dja Faunal Reserve is especially noted for its biodiversity and a wide variety of primates (western lowland gorilla, chimpanzee...).
Visit a Baka pygmies Village who live in a relatively traditional manner and confer a recognized cultural value to the site. Note that you are required to pay a park fee and hire a nature guard or a guide.
