Chad has striking varied landscapes from the arid plains in the center, lowlands in the south to the desert in north. The region around Lake Chad is the largest wetland in the country while N’Djamena is the largest city and administrative capital.
Starting from the capital city, N’Djamena, tourists have the opportunity to explore the old colonial buildings and the landscape. Grand Marche is the central market in the city. The city also houses the National Museum and the Presidential Palace.
Other notable tourist attractions in Chad are Douguia’s Chari River, Zakouma National Park, Tarso Toh, Bahr Salamat Raunal Reserve and Lake Chad. The Tibesti Mountains and the soda–type lake, Tibesti Soda Lake in it is another place to visit. The lake is highly saline.
