Akosombo can be found in the Asuogyaman District in the south east of Ghana. Just around 50 miles north of the capital, Accra. The town is located at the Adome Bridge and is most famous for the Akosombo dam. This hydroelectric dam provides power for all of Ghana and has created the largest man-made lake in West Africa.
