Aburi Botanical Gardens is a 2-hour drive from Accra. The Kotoka International Airport Accra is the nearest airport to the Aburi Botanical gardens and where most tourists visiting the gardens from abroad use. Aburi Botanical Gardens lies on some 64 hectares of land; 52 hectares being natural vegetation land and 12 hectares of landscaped land.
The Aburi Botanical Gardens has several conservation programmes ongoing. The Medicinal Conservation programme and the Ex-situ conservation programme are examples. Different kinds of plant species are found at the Aburi Botanical Gardens.
