Abidjan, the capital of Ivory Coast, is divided into communes. The largest, and the most upmarket, is Cocody. This area is famous for its luxurious mansions and villas. It is home to the President, as well as many wealthy business people. Several prestigious schools are located in this suburb, including the Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny.
Port Bouet Airport is located 16 km to the south, and is the largest airport in the Ivory Coast. It is the main hub of the national airline and operates both domestic and international flights. The city has a good public transport network that includes trains, ferries, buses and taxis.
Visitors to Cocody can enjoy relaxing on the many beautiful, sandy beaches that front the sheltered Ébrié Lagoon. The city centre, with its impressive skyscrapers, is within easy reach, along with many places of interest that include St Paul’s Cathedral and the Parc du Banco nature reserve.
There are so many things to visit in Abidjan such as the National Library of Côte d'Ivoire, National Museum and Cocody Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art.
