Explore Gombe Stream National Park

By  |  0 Comments

Gombe Stream National Park is the smallest national park in Tanzania. It is located about 20 km north of Kigoma Region, Tanzania. Jane Goodall,  a renowned British primatologist, did her research studies on chimpanzees in this park, in the 1960s, which is one of the reason it is a world famous park.

Despite its size, Gombe National Park is an important tourist attraction owing to its variety of wildlife and landscapes, from the rolling grasslands to the evergreen steep slopes that are covered in semi-deciduous forest. Bordered by Lake Tanganyika to the west, the park has become a small, isolated ecosystem and a prime habitat for different types of primates.
